New York City: Bar Boulud
So night 2 in New York City needed to be somewhere laid back after an all day shopping excursion to Woodbury Commons! I booked Bar Boulud for this night since the restaurant was only 8 blocks away from where we were staying leaving us plenty of time to have a glass of wine and chill before dinner. I’ve heard a lot about Daniel Boulud and his restaurants so what a perfect opportunity we had to go this time around. The long and narrow restaurant was packed, even at 10pm – our reservation time. The menu is very French bistro, making my mouth water – can you tell I miss France dearly 🙂 One of my favourite things to eat….charcuterie was on the menu! With three different pates, pickled carrots, coleslaw, ham, salami and grainy mustard – how could I resist. It was delicious, especially the pickled carrots!!! Something I didn’t expect. But the best dishes of the night have to go to dessert – nothing is better than French inspired desserts. Macaroons, madeleines, truffles and tarts, oh my!

Inside Bar Boulud

Starting the evening with some sweet cocktails!

Classic coq au vin – looks yummy!

Charcuterie Board with coleslaw, pickled carrots and frisee.

My dessert – a fig and pineapple tart. A thought the combination weird when I read it but surprisingly, it was a good combination!

Chocolate pear tarte with a pear coconut sorbet.

Petit fours – bonbons, macarons and madeleines.

YUM!
