New York City: Abe & Arthur’s
Sometimes time just gets away from me! I can’t believe it has been almost 3 weeks since my last post and although I have been working mu butt off at the office, it hasn’t been all work and no play 🙂 It has been a couple of weeks full of Christmas/Holiday parties and best of all, a trip to New York City with 5 of my closest girlfriends last weekend! Rarely, do all the stars align and we all happen to be able to book a short 4 day holiday together to one of the greatest cities in the world – especially when it comes to the “culinary” world. So if you’re not familiar with NYC and how hard it is to get into some of the top restaurants, you can be out of luck if you leave reservations to the last minute. I had to book a month in advance for all the restaurants so as to not take the chance with such a large group. The first night, we dined at Abe & Arthur’s, a restaurant located in the Meatpacking District. This recommendation came from my research on top restaurant lists. The restaurant was a good size, with a ton of chatter – you can hear everyone enjoying their nights. Because of its location, you have all types – business professionals, models, artists, etc. The food was really good – big sized portion of meats and sides sold separately. The highlights: instead of typical bread, they serve popovers (very trendy these days as it wasn’t the only restaurant where we were served them), the maple syrup dipping sauce that came with the sweet potato fries and the french toast bread pudding! And if you do decide to go to Abe & Arthur’s, I recommend not getting the “All-inclusive” cocktail – now I love ginger, but that cocktail was even too much for my taste buds. Enjoy the pics!
The Carnival for Two looks awesome and so fun! :-) Kenley
